Thank you to all our volunteers, business owners, and community for making the Holiday Market on Birch Street a success!

We had a great time last Thursday at the inaugural Roslindale Holiday Market on Birch Street, made possible by our dedicated volunteers, and by the local businesses and neighbors who braved bitterly cold temperatures and strong winds to eat, drink, shop and celebrate!

The Holiday Market was a collaboration between Roslindale Village Main Street (RVMS) and local business owners to bring the community together around food, live music, and the chance to shop for the holidays in our neighborhood. While we originally envisioned an outdoor European-style market, the last-minute change to move some activities indoors kept everyone safe and vendors and visitors still enjoyed a festive shopping experience inside both Emerald Society and the vacant storefront at 22 Birch St. The surrounding shops and restaurants were busy, and the courtyard made for a cozy outdoor gathering space, with Exodus Bagels, Apex Orchards, and the much-anticipated raclette from Boston Cheese Cellar

Thank you to our Co-Sponsors of the event: our neighborhood banks The Cooperative Bank and Meetinghouse Bank.

Thanks to the local businesses who helped conceive and plan this event starting back in the summer and fall: Adam Shutes from Boston Cheese Cellar, Karen Kirchoff of Karen Kirchoff Acupuncture & Herbs, Elizabeth Swanson from Birch St. House & Garden, Deb Debenedictis from Tony's Market, and Joanne Rossman, Purveyor of the unnecessary and the irresistible

Thank you also to the local businesses that came up with holiday cocktails and wine tastings: Solera, a Shrine to Wine, and Sophia's Grotto, Birch Street Bistro.

Thanks to the RVMS Board of Directors and Committee volunteers who helped with everything from booking vendors to cleaning up garland at the end of the night: Erin Doherty, Tom Donahue, Sue Forti, Anthony Giordano, Liz Graham-Meredith, Karen Kirchoff, Andrea Miller, Rob Orthman, Nina Pralour, Silvana Ragusa, and Hilary Sullivan

Also thanks to our community members who volunteered, Marlo Pedroso, and student volunteers from Northeastern University's Civic Engagement Program

Live music from Balkan Mind Meld rounded out a great night, and Glenn Williams, our emcee, took care of all the sound and music for the event. Additionally, the Pop Up Opera paid the Holiday Market a visit thanks to Tony's Market.
