Holiday Market on Birch Street
Thanks to our supporters, vendors and residents for braving the cold to come out to the 2016 Inaugural Holiday Market on Birch St! We look forward to planning the 2017 event!
RVMS will be holding its very first Holiday Market on Birch Street on Thursday, December 15th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. The Holiday Market will offer Rozzidents & visitors alike the opportunity to celebrate and shop for the season in their neighborhood, and will feature live music, local vendors and delicious treats. We’ll be closing down Birch Street in the Square, creating a European-style outdoor market, and there will be music and more inside the Emerald Society building.
Thanks to our co-sponsors
UPDATE: The Holiday Market on Birch Street is a celebration of the holiday season and wintertime in New England - we envisioned an event to stroll among twinkle lights and tents in an outdoor European-style market. To protect our vendors and their macarons, delicate ornaments, and letterpress prints from the wind predicted in Thursday's forecast, we are moving all gift-y vendors into two warm areas on Birch Street: 22 Birch Street (we are activating the vacant storefront where Kitchen Central used to be) and inside the Emerald Society. Vendors will be selling everything from French soaps, candies, macarons, to jewelry, pottery, art and more.
We are also excited that the courtyard space where Sophia's Grotto is located (they have heaters!) will be cozier, protected from the wind, and filled with more pizazz, including Exodus Bagels selling bagels and spreads under a heated pergola, the Boston Cheese Cellar offering a gooey cheese raclette experience at their stoop, and Apex Orchards completing the courtyard with Christmas trees, apples, and honey.
The local shops likeBirch St. House & Garden, Dandelions Flower Shop, and Joanne Rossman, Purveyor of the Unnecessary & the Irresistible will be open, selling wonderful gifts and more. Vendors will be selling everything from French soaps, candies, macarons, to jewelry, pottery, art and more.
There will be children's activities like a balloon artist and face painting thanks to Meetinghouse Bank and A Plus Realty Group, and WalkUP Roslindale (holiday chalk art in the street).
Wander into the courtyard for wine tastings and more from the surrounding restaurants and businesses: Solera Shrine to Wine, Birch Street Bistro, Sophia's Grotto and Village Sushi and Grill.
