Robert Orthman joined the RVMS board in 2016. Rob is an active community member and has served as president of the Longfellow Area Neighborhood Association (LANA) since 2014. He is an attorney with experience at a boutique law firm in Boston and as assistant general counsel with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. Rob also served as a legislative aide to former Boston City Councilor John Tobin prior to law school. Rob is involved in numerous civic initiatives including WalkUP Roslindale, the New Leaders Council, and the Big Brother Association as a ‘big brother’ for almost nine years. He lives near the Arboretum with his wife Jessica, son Jack, and their sibling pairs of dogs and cats. Rob is a graduate of Boston Latin School, Boston College, and Suffolk University Law School. He grew up in Roslindale and West Roxbury and is proud to be a third-generation Roslindale resident. Rob’s parents grew up together as kids in Roslindale and his grandparents have lived in the same house near the George Wright golf course since the 1960s. In his free time, Rob enjoys walking around the neighborhood with his big goofy dogs, reading up on local and national politics, and closely following his beloved Boston Celtics.
