Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 24th, from 3 - 5 pm

This much-loved event always draws a crowd, featuring musical performances, ornament-making, and visits with Santa. 2018 is the 34th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Save the date and stay tuned for more details!

Small Business Saturday

November 24th is also Small Business Saturday. Falling between the infamous “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday,” Small Business Saturday is a national campaign by American Express and the National Main Street Center to help spur business for neighborhood merchants. Show your loyalty and support at the many local Roslindale shops, salons, and restaurants on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. Special events and offers are available at participating shops.

Bay State Model Railroad Museum Open House

Weekend of December 1st and 2nd, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Be sure to visit the Bay State Model Railroad Museum’s Open House, one of only two times a year in which they are open to the public. Keep an eye out for Santa!

Holiday Market

Thursday, December 6th, from 4:oo to 8:00 pm

RVMS will be holding our 2nd annual Holiday Market on Birch Street on Thursday, December 6th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. The Holiday Market offers residents the opportunity to celebrate and shop for the season in their neighborhood, and will feature live music, local vendors and delicious treats. Tony's Market's Annual Opera Night

Thursday, December 13th from 6:00 to 8:00pm

Posada Navideña

Saturday, December 15th from 10:30am-11:30am

unnamed-1 A true Mexican, and now Roslindale, tradition the Nativity re-enactment of Joseph and Mary seeking lodging. Come dressed in warm clothes and ready to carol for “Posada” or “Shelter” around the Village accompanied by a Mariachi band which ends at Roslindale Library.  The Friends of Roslindale Library will be generously waiting to greet participants with books, pinatas and goodie bags for the children, as well as traditional Mexican food such as warm tamales, champurrado (hot chocolate) and other treats prepared by local residents Alejandro Rodriguez and Lucy Galvan at the Roslindale Library where the Posada ends. Menorah Lighting

Sunday, December 9th at 4:00pm in Adams Park

Held in Adams Park, join in a community menorah lighting event filled with singing and neighborly cheer. Be sure to B.Y.O.M -- bring your own menorah!

Winter Solstice Luminaria

Friday, December 21st at 6:30pm *rain-date is Dec 22*

Join the Winter Solstice Luminaria 2018 in Roslindale as the community marks the Solstice by lighting up the shortest day of the year. Celebrate this year on Friday, December 21st at 6:30 pm. Come with your neighbors, friends and children to enjoy the beautiful glow from hundreds of candle-lit luminaries in Adams Park and throughout the Roslindale business district.
